Okay, but time consuming. I'm trying to do extra before I go off on holidays at the end of the month.

204) Slaughterhouse 5 - Kurt Vonnegut

Now reading Persuasion. My goal is to read one pre-20th century classic, then a modern classic etc. Smile

Vonnegut's work was amazing <3

Good luck with Persuasion! I have tried reading it before and I couldn't get into it - despite my loving anything Austen. But since my History Day project is on her, I'm going to have to read it.

Well I've never read her... *ashamed face* and it's my mum's favourite so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm not really a romantic person so Persuasion is possibly the best chance I've got at getting into her Wink

I just read an article on CNN (for History Day) that said that Persuasion is a darker novel of her's... mostly because she was dying of TB/Addison's disease/ lymphoma

But you should read it. If you can't get through Persuasion I would try reading Lady Susan, it's short sweet and very Austen in her early years.

Picked up Vonnegut's 'Breakfast of Champions' today at College because I felt terrible and didn't want to work. Read it in just over three hours Smile

205) Breakfast of Champions - Kurt Vonnegut

Still reading Persuasion. Have decided that next year I will attempt to read a book a year Smile Should be doable.

A book a year? That shouldn't be too difficult. *teases*

I think you mean a book a week don't you?

Oh yeah XD *headdesk*

Although knowing how slow I read at times a book a year may be a more manageable goal Smile

Persuasion - Jane Austen

Wasn't that bad ^^ I was expecting more of a climax but still quite sweet in a way. Now reading 'How I Live Now' by Meg Rosoff. Very nice Smile

I'd read Good Omens and loved it - always meant to pick up his Discworld novels, but never got round to it. I'm currently using silly fantasy and general casual stories to counteract the big-beefy modern lit things I'm reading. Because there is nothing casual about a book that doesn't use speechmarks *Glares at Blindness*
